2009 / 2010
BC SAW FILER'S ASSOCIATION

PRESIDENT’S NOTE

On April 17, 2010 we had our annual filer’s conference.  Unfortunately we did not have enough members present to meet our by-law requirements for a quorum.  As a result of us not meeting our quorum requirement we were not able to conduct any official business as an association so the directors, President, Vice President, and Treasurer remain the same until our next year’s conference.

The filer’s that did attend the conference along with our suppliers did have meaningful discussions on the future of our industry and our association.  In keeping with our discussion we are planning a conference in 2011.  We hope to have the conference in Kamloops, BC if we can find proper accommodations.  We hope this more centralized location will make it easier more of our filer’s to attend.

As an executive we are confident that better times are ahead and we look forward to meeting the challenges we have and are committed to moving forward to keep our association current and functional.

A big thanks to the filer’s who did attend as the majority of the filer’s and executive paid their own way this year.  We would also like to thank our supplier’s for their support at our conference this year and for their commitment of continued support for our association.

We will keep you informed of the date and location of our next conference.  We should have this information by October/November of this year.  As executive we appreciate your understanding and any questions or inquiries can be directed to any of our executive.  Contact information can be found on our website,

                                                                                    Thanks, Bruce Doroshuk.
